Mark Saber receives three photographs from a dying man and with the help of Barney O'Keefe must link the three people in the pictures to the murder.

When a bookkeeper suddenly disappears, his wife gets Mark Saber to investigate and he discovers that there is more to the crime than meets the eye.

A stockbroker asks for Saber's help when a large number of counterfeit £5 notes are discovered and their only lead is murdered. They finally catch a break when Dolly Day is caught spending £300 in counterfeit money in a shop.

Mark Saber investigates a crooked fight manager after meeting the wife of a boxer who became a victim in the scheme.

Maxine, co-owner of Henri's Beauty Saloon has been beset with a number accidents that is ruining their reputation. Mark Saber is called in to find out who is sabotaging the salon but soon realises this is a job for Judy.

Invalid Miriam Boothe is convinced that her relatives are trying to murder her. She believes she has no choice but to telephone Mark Saber for help. Their meeting doesn't go well but when he discovers she is dead he investigates.

Miss Emma Krol begs for Mark Saber's help. During World War Two, she worked as an undercover agent with Ernst Lomak, and now he has been murdered. She suspects it's an American who is connected to her boss Mr Hillyer.

Lacey, a theatre manager asks Mark Saber to act as a middleman and pay Ritchie Bonsell a £1,000 to leave the country. Bonsell, a former employee, has just served three years in jail for manslaughter. Next day, Lacey is found murdered.

Lawyer Mr Farrell was in charge of Mrs Wright's finances. She had been in hospital for two weeks and he is shocked she died. The police believe this is suicide but Farrell is concerned about her dying after her relatives had visited.

A man prone to sudden blackouts visits the apartment of his wife's first husband in a fit of rage after learning she is being blackmailed by the man. While there he blacks out and then awakes to discover the man dead.
