Season 12

On New Year's Day, Tracy is suspicious of Brian and Joe, Marcia tells Sinbad what she has seen, and Patricia sacks Anna.

Peter can't cope with Anna's romantic advances. Fran refuses to allow Barry to see his son. DD tries to make Leanne consider the options she faces.

A big event is arranged for the residents of the Close. John is not impressed when he returns and finds that Anna has moved in with Peter. Ron is not the only one who wants the vacant shop.

It is the final day of the trial. Marianne has some news for Ellis about their wedding plans.

The verdict is reached, and Jimmy is out for revenge. Ron discovers that DD is opening a florists' next door to the Trading Post. Sinbad has to choose a best man. Max brings Jean back from Spain, but David is determined to be somewhere else.

Barry tries to ensure that Jimmy doesn't do anything stupid. Sinbad seems to have lost his mother again. Patricia tries to resolve the conflict betwwen David and Jean, and Derek runs out of toilet paper.

There is a shock from the past for Patricia, while DD reveals the truth about Derek's Romanian job to Margaret. Diana steals some scissors from Tracy's salon, but it's not her hair that she plans to cut.

Peter is upset about Diana's attempt to commit suicide in his bathroom. Sinbad has too many best men. Patricia is reluctant to let David teach Margaret to drive.

Leanne has an abortion. Peter talks to Tracy about Diana. Terry asks Fran to move in with him. Margaret has her first driving lesson in Max's car, and crashes it.

Leanne's parents find out about her abortion, and are not pleased. Sinbad's surplus of best men shows no sign of abating. Max may have found a buyer for David and Jean's Spanish apartment, but Patricia is not pleased at the price.

DD tries to explain and justify her actions to Mrs Powell. Patricia talks to David about his affair. Several people consider offering Margaret the money she needs to go to Romania, and the best men find out about each other.

Tracy convinces Diana that she needs help, and takes her to see a psychiatrist. DD does not intend to apologise to anyone for her involvement in Leanne's abortion. Derek disturbs Patricia while she is meeting a potential client.

Barry snatches his child, and Margaret puts on a brave face about Romania. Ron drops Lyn in it with Frank by revealing that she was involved with Leanne's abortion.

Peter feels more guilty, and Fran gets Steven back. Max and Ron both plan leaving parties for Margaret and Derek, and neither of them want to give way to the other.

Margaret and Derek have their farewell party. Terry realises how he can help Fran. Marianne is annoyed when Ellis makes some decisions without consulting her.

Terry takes drastic action to prevent Barry from gaining access to Steven. Everyone waves farewell to Margaret and Derek, but it is not too late for a last-minute change of plan.

It is an emotionally charged night for the stags and hens. Frank suggests that Lyn moves in with him.

Margaret reappears, but doesn't want to talk to DD. The Crosbies may have found somewhere to settle.

Sinbad goes against Marcia's wishes by telling Marianne what Mick has said about her. There are mysterious new occupants at number 10. Margaret receives a message from Derek.

Sinbad makes a big decision, and Mick seizes his last chance.

When the bride is late for the wedding, Ellis is concerned, but Mick is hopeful. Lyn decides to apply for a new job.

Josie and Marcia are forced to leave for good. Sinbad gets most of the blame for the wedding fiasco, but not from Marianne. Patricia offers Margaret a way out of her misery.

Mandy has an accident, which arouses suspicion. Marianne plucks up the courage to go and see Mick. David and Jean have some news which infuriates Max.

Mick gets advice from his solicitor, but his situation is not looking good. Frank's plans may be spoiled by the unexpected arrival of Lyn's younger sister, Bev.

There is bad news for Mandy and Beth. Ellis sees something he wasn't meant to. Lyn and her children move in with Frank and Katie.

Alison doesn't feel at home. Beth worries that her father will track down the Jordaches' new home. Ron and DD go to Blackpool, while Mick and Marianne talk about their future.

Mick tries to sort out his problems, and a familiar face returns to the Close, which gives Mike a convenient excuse to have a party.

Jimmy interviews for bar staff. DD and Ron return home unexpectedly, and quickly discover what has been going on in their absence.

A charming stranger arrives on the Close in search of some of its residents. Luckily, those he speaks to don't give anything away. Bev is having trouble with her love life, and turns to Frank.

Mandy's worst fears are realised, thanks to David. Jimmy thinks he has the answer to Mick's money worries. Ellis returns from his solo honeymoon. Diana's first shift behind the bar doesn't go well.

Jean and Patricia are horrified to hear that David may have jeopardised the safety of the Jordaches, and try to check on Mandy. Ron realises that it is time to do some serious thinking about the state of his marriage.

If he can't get to see Mandy, Trevor is determined to make contact with Beth. Mick is worried about his relationship with Marianne. There is friction between Peter and Anna.

Jimmy tries to get some help with his latest dodgy scheme. Anna loses another job, while Mike fancies Beth.

DD is worried about the state of her marriage. Ron gets a new assistant at the Trading Post. Rachel asks for a pair of football boots.

Beth confides in Mike. Margaret realises that it is all over for her and Derek. There are arguments about rent and sleeping arrangements.

Ron is flirting at work again, Sinbad is tempted to help Jimmy out, and Mandy goes to visit Trevor.

Ron takes Bev to the cash and carry, and on the way back their relationship takes a new turn. Sinbad discovers that he has volunteered to carry out a robbery.

On Rachel's 14th birthday, Trevor calls at number 10 again, and Mandy tells him she is filing for a divorce. The bungling burglars prepare to empty Mick's bungalow.

Ron decides to take things a stage further with Bev. Karyn and Patricia discuss business and Barry. Trevor comes to see Rachel while Mandy is out.

Mandy can't ignore a distress call from Trevor, which improves his chances of getting back into the house. Ron is worried, which is exactly what Bev was hoping for.

Mandy tells Beth and Rachel that Trevor is coming to stay for a couple of nights. Anna asks Peter to marry her. Mick arrives home early, and no-one has time to tell him what to expect.

Jimmy and Sinbad try to turn back time. Susannah needs a favour from Max. Beth confronts Trevor.

Mick moves upstairs, Trevor looks for digs, Mike takes the plunge, and Ron and Bev have a secret.

After their kiss, Ron starts telling everyone that he and Bev are together. Beth insists that Trevor cannot stay at number 10.

Ron plans a romantic night at a hotel with Bev. Max is shocked that Susannah plans to go to the United States with her boyfriend Andrew.

David discovers that the bungalow is up for sale, and thinks it would be ideal for him and Jean. Marianne and Mick have a quiet night in, but the kids are there too. Ron takes Bev to Southport, and Trevor joins Mandy in her bed.

Frank knows Ron was not where he claimed to be on Friday night, and warns him to be careful. Trevor is back in control at number 10, and things go from bad to worse for Mandy and Beth.

When nobody turns up to their anniversary drinks party except the Crosbies, Trevor blames Mandy. Caught out in one lie, Ron tells DD another one. Max is not able to persuade Susannah to change her mind.

Beth notices Mandy's bruises. Anna is shocked to find out what her new job involves. Sinbad discovers that Trevor has been in prison.

Max is determined to stand in the way of Susannah's plans. Mick wants to marry Marianne. Ron insists that DD sees a doctor.

Sinbad tells Terry and Jimmy that he is worried about Mandy. Mick may be rushing into things.

Sinbad is horrified when he witnesses Trevor beating Mandy up, but Beth is even more horrified when she finds him with Rachel in her bed.

Beth confronts Rachel, who breaks down. Mandy promises that Trevor will not touch her again. Max goes behind Patricia's back to see Susannah, while Ron risks being caught out by DD.

Patricia's fears are confirmed, Ron is worried, and in desperation Beth and Mandy carry out their plan to poison Trevor.

Ron helps to move Bev into her new flat, then Lyn sees him kissing her. DD feels that she needs to talk to someone neutral. Mandy and Beth's plan does not go entirely as they hoped.

Mandy and Beth are exhausted, but they need to act quickly before Rachel comes home and notices that they have killed her father.

Ron is relieved that Lyn has not said anything to DD about his affair with Bev. More and more cracks seem to be appearing in Barry and Joe's business partnership, and the Jordaches are visited by a policeman.

Beth is determined to bury Trevor's body, but it may not may that simple. Keith suggests a job at his college for which Anna might be ideal. Sinbad discovers something nasty in Mandy's bin-bag.

Mandy and Beth dispose of Trevor's body. DD's behaviour becomes very strange. Anna has to decide whether to go ahead with her nude modelling job.

Patricia is not convinced that Max is doing the right thing. Sinbad discovers that Beth's hole in the garden has disappeared, and discourages Rachel from trying to find her father. Father Monroe advises Ron that DD needs to enter a convent.

Mandy is close to a breakdown, and Ron is feeling guilty. Barry organises another rave night, and Joe has a proposition for Anna.

Joe wants Barry out of the club, or else. Ron breaks up with Bev. There are more visitors for Mandy.

Barry's rave is a success, until the police show up. About to enter the convent, DD reveals to Ron that she knew about his affair with Bev. David and Jean throw a house-warming party, and Sinbad has a few questions for Mandy.

The Jordaches are asked to move out, causing Mandy to panic. Max is missing his children, and Susannah.......

Ron wants to know why Bev is going out with Mike. Mandy confides more in Sinbad. Anna finds herself in a compromising situation with a client.

Anna comes home in the morning and begins to think about what she has done. Jean and David discover that Max has snatched Matthew and Emily from Susannah and brought them home.

Patricia returns from London, and quickly notices that there are more of Max's children playing in the garden than there should be. After talking to Rachel, Mrs Shackleton realises Mandy has been lying. Ron and Bev photograph themselves with Mike's camera.

Ron wants Bev to dump Mike, but she won't. Mandy tries to explain her actions so that she and the girls can stay on at number 10. Peter tells Anna he has found someone who is willing to marry her.

Max apologises to Susannah, and convinces her to leave the children with him for three months. The tenants on the parade are annoyed when Barry raises their rent.

Ron and Max both fear that they are all about to be caught out over things they shouldn't have done. Beth runs out of her Chemistry "A" level exam.

Keith develops the photographs of a somewhat naked Ron and Bev. Max is sure that David will tell Patricia that Susannah stayed overnight. Sinbad tries to help the Jordaches out of their predicament. Barry finds his belongings dumped in the street.

Ron and Bev try to retrieve the incriminating photographs before Mike sees them. Max admits to David that he slept with Susannah. Peter discovers that Anna has been lying.

Anna makes a controversial confession about her job. Mandy and the girls go off on holiday. Joe forces Barry to sign away his share of the nightclub.

Barry's plans to gain his revenge by torching the nightclub are spoiled by Jimmy. Ron delegates David the task of preparing a shortlist of applicants for the job in the florists'.

Peter finds Anna's savings, and suspects the worst. Jimmy wants revenge on Barry, and Joe is able to arrange it.

Barry doesn't realise that he is being set up, and the consequences for Jimmy could be deadly. Julia is pipped at the post for the job in the flower shop. Peter has to rescue Anna from a difficult situation.

Jimmy is in hospital, and is convinced that Barry is responsible. Peter tries to convince Anna that sleeping with men for money is immoral. Bev asks Ron for money.

Mike is looking forward to a holiday abroad, until Bev has some news for him that he was not expecting. Max finally goes to the doctor, but what he is told doesn't make him feel any better.

Mike confides in Keith about his predicament, and Keith decides that someone else may have just as much right to know about it. David is pursued by an unwanted admirer.

Barry feels cornered, and leaves himself vulnerable. Ron is pleased with Bev's news, but she is not so happy about it. David is convinced that Max is faking illness in order to avoid confessing to Patricia.

Mike considers selling his guitar so that he can pay for an abortion for Bev. Patricia collects Max from hospital, then throws him out of her car. Barry plans to repair his damaged jeep with Sinbad's help, but finds that it has disappeared.

Marianne is optimistic that her interview went well. Ron discovers that Mike is distributing copies of photographs that he would prefer to be kept private. David discovers that Jean isn't going to the dance with him and Julia.

Ron asks Bev to move in with him. Patricia decides to divorce Max. Barry explains to Oscar how he has been set up by Joe.

Oscar takes Jimmy under his wing, Patricia is not interested in Max's excuses, Jacqui packs her bags, and Peter fails to make Anna reconsider her chosen profession.

The case against Barry begins to fall apart. Patricia wonders if she is doing the right thing by divorcing Max.

Bev moves the last of her stuff into Ron's, but a visit from Lyn turns into a catfight. Anna is out on the streets, and soon gets an offer she really can't refuse.

Max doesn't like it when he sees Patricia on the arm of another man. Just as things appear to have calmed down for the Jordaches, an unexpected visitor appears.......

Mandy and Beth return from their holiday, and face some more awkward questions. Barry is suspicious of Oscar. Max is desperate to win Patricia back, and tries everything he can - but will it be enough?

Marianne starts her new job. Jimmy catches some young drug dealers in the club. When Terry receives a dinner invitation, he invites Sinbad to be his partner.

Max's jealousy gets the better of him. Sinbad plucks up the courage to ask Mandy to join him at a dance.

Patricia moves back in, and throws Max out. Terry finds a dance partner. Jacqui moves back into the Dixons'. Jimmy is told to turn a blind eye.

The Farnhams' divorce becomes more acrimonious, but Terry is very taken with Anna. Brian asks Jimmy for more information about the drug dealers.

Patricia has nothing but contempt for Max. The police revisit the Jordaches. Mike and Jacqui have a plan, but Sister Mary Joseph does not approve.

Mandy and Beth are called to the police station to identify a body, which could be the perfect opportunity for them. Mick is jealous of Charles. Max finds that Patricia has changed the locks.

Mandy has a funeral to arrange. David gives Jacqui and Mike a lift to Pwllheli.

There is a very strained atmosphere between Max and Patricia. David and Julia trip the light fantastic. The house is too crowded for Ron and Bev.

It is the day of the funeral of "Trevor", but Mandy doubts whether she can go through with it. The pressure placed on her by Jacqui and Mike becomes too much for Bev to take. Mick and Marianne argue.

Ron is desperately seeking Bev, while she is secretly seeing Lyn. Peter suspects that Anna is beginning to enjoy her new line of work. Sinbad and Mandy realise that there is only one way that they can satisfy Brenna.

Beth has to spend part of her 18th birthday digging up the garden to retrieve a ring from her dead father's finger. Anna has arranged a date with Terry, and doesn't want to be in the club when the birthday group arrive.

Mandy is finally able to get rid of Brenna, but it leads to a misunderstanding with Sinbad. Terry is curious about what a marriage of convenience would involve.

Ron searches high and low for Bev to prevent her from having an abortion, and his desperation drives him to do a few stupid things.

Mandy turns to Sinbad, and involves him even more deeply in her problems. Keith encourages Peter to tell Beth about his rape trial before she finds out from someone else.

Anna is disappointed that Peter appears keen to have a relationship with Beth. While driving Bev home from the Legion, Frank has a heart attack.

Jackie agrees to help out in the club, but is horrified to find out what is going on. Mick sees a new side of Garry. Anna leaves Peter and moves in with Terry. Beth is scared by memories of the past.

Sinbad continues with his plan to help the Jordaches. Peter and Beth seal their relationship. Charles' desire overcomes him, which makes life difficult for Marianne.

Cracks are appearing in the Farnham house. Mandy feels obliged to tell Beth what she has found out about Peter. Marianne's problems at work get worse. Katie tells Frank her plans, and doesn't get the response she expected.

Brian invites Patricia to an opening do. Marianne has a fight on her hands. Frank gets a warm welcome home from everyone.......except Alison.

Jackie is curious about why Brian has invited Jimmy to a party. Anna, aware of Barry's impending return, suggests to Terry that she should leave his flat, and he proposes to her.

Patricia has first-date nerves. Marianne has even more problems with Charles at work. Alison comes home from school, and sneaks out to David's while Frank is asleep.

Patricia has another date, in which she takes things a stage further. Frank buys Alison an expensive computer to try to encourage her to support his plans to marry Lyn.

David takes Alison under his wing, which just makes things more difficult for Lyn and Frank. Charles is relieved to hear that Mick knows nothing about the reason for Marianne's resignation.

Mick's remarks to Charles make Marianne feel that she has only one remaining option. Peter decides to go with Margaret to Oxford for a couple of weeks. Barry tries to find out why Terry is marrying Anna.

Mick wants to know the truth about Marianne and Charles. Anna and Terry fell embarrassed when everyone congratulates them on their forthcoming marriage.

Marianne and Mick both lose their appeals. Max returns home, and finds it isn't just his marriage that's cracked. Terry encourages Anna to show off the engagement ring he has bought her.

Mick is made to realise how wrong he was. Max is determined to speak to Patricia, even if it means that he has to steal a bicycle. Peter decides to stay in Oxford. A compromise is reached over Alison, and Frank has a surprise visitor.

Mick finds out about Garry, and Geoff reveals what his problem is. Mike and Keith try to interest Barry in a new opportunity, and Max tries to persuade Patricia to think again.

When Barry spoils Terry and Anna's plans, she appeals to Peter to take her away with him. Steve advises Bev to leave Ron, and makes her a tempting offer. It looks like it is all over for Max and Patricia.

Max is busy packing his things, when Patricia turns up. As their wedding day gets closer, life is far from uneventful for Lyn and Frank.

Max is anxious to remarry as soon as possible, but Patricia is not sure. Steve tries to cause trouble between Bev and Ron.

Marianne considers Charles's offer and, with Mick's backing, gives him her decision. Lyn and Frank resolve to be with each other, come what may. Ron's credit card reaches its limit.

Max is definitely up to something, and Patricia is getting suspicious. Mandy has some good news, and Jimmy gets an ear-bashing from Julia.

Ron is worried because he hasn't heard from Bev. Lyn lays down the law to Alison. PC Coban turns up to follow up a complaint made by Charles against Mick.

Frank's guitar comes in handy. and Terry is called to a hospital urgently when Anna is beaten up by one of her clients.

David needs to decide whether he will go to Max and Patricia's wedding, and Anna also has a decision to make. Ron learns the truth about Bev, and walks out on her.

It is the final of the dancing championship in Preston, and most of the residents of the Close turn up to support David and Julia.

An innocent good luck kiss is wrongly interpreted. Barry returns from his holiday, discovers that Anna and Terry have broken up, and is determined to find out why.

Anna and Barry come to a business arrangement, but both of them have conditions. It looks as if Charles will walk away scot-free - but Marianne has other plans.

Charles is smug in the knowledge that Marianne will drop the sexual harrassment charges, but there is still time for the smile to be wiped from his face. Anna insists that if she is to have an AIDS test, so must Barry.

Mick and Marianne are celebrating, but Charles has the last word. Lyn is annoyed when Bev turns up at Frank's stag party.

Barry and Anna receive their test results. Ron is depressed when DD sets out her terms, and Max and Patricia are unable to discover why Clive's cheque has bounced.

Jean and David find a crowd of waiting journalists when they arrive at Banbury. Jimmy is desperate to dump his stash of drugs, but Brian won't help him.

The Crosbies return home. DD and Bev come face to face at Lyn and Frank's wedding.

The bad news is broken at the reception, and a distraught Lyn is at Frank's bedside when he dies. Jimmy decides he has got to get away.

A guilt-ridden Ron keeps vigil at Tony's bedside, praying that he will wake up. Lyn learns some horrifying details about the crash, but can't bear to tell Frank's children.

Keith manages to spend the night at the Farnhams'. A journalist arrives on the Crosbies' doorstep. Chrissy arrives to support her family.

Mandy can find no reason to prevent Rachel from going to see her father's grave. Mike begins to come to terms with what has happened to Tony.

On the day of Frank's funeral, a secret is revealed.

Anna hears the horrific truth about Barry. Sinbad convinces Mandy to have a night out. Adrian introduces Penny to someone she really didn't want to meet. David tries to obtain proof that Mike and Keith have been living with Margaret.

Penny comes face-to-face with Mike and Keith, and David declares war.

Ron is determined that Tony will pull through. The talent night is a great success. Terry tells Anna that he loves her.

Animosity continues at the Rogers' home, and between DD and Bev at the hospital. Terry and Anna go shopping. Mike and Keith move a piano into the Farnhams'.

Mandy's obsession with the dead man in Trevor's grave makes Sinbad concerned that she will ruin everything. There is no good news for Penny, and when Jimmy visits the hospital he sees what he has done.

Jimmy returns to the club, wanting his job back. A letter from Derek raises Keith's hopes, but there is no hope for Penny.

Ron is ecstatic by what he sees at the hospital, but his elation soon turns to devastation. Things go from bad to worse in the Rogers', forcing Katie more towards her strange friend Simon.

Ron is determined to help Tony recover, no matter what the cost is. Jimmy breaks down, and turns to drugs to take his mind off his problems.

Sinbad hints to Beth that he thinks something might be going on between Keith and Margaret, but Beth isn't admitting who she fancies. Mike sells his photo of Penny to the press.

Sinbad is determined to play matchmaker for Margaret and Keith, but only ends up losing some of his clothes.

Penny's photograph appears in the newspaper. Katie has to choose between Simon and Jacqui. Beth reveals her true feelings, and Barry almost catches Jimmy in the act of taking drugs.

Anna and Terry decide that the wedding is on again. Beth breaks up Keith's romantic dinner. Jimmy is a hero, and everything comes to a head on the Rogers' staircase.......

The full implications of Lyn's fall become apparent, which doesn't improve the atmosphere at the Rogers'. How the photograph of Penny got into the wrong hands becomes clear.

Lyn is surprised by a visitor. David wastes no time making his feelings known at the Farnhams'. Ron receives more bad news at the hospital.

Katie has a decision to make. Terry and Anna set a date for their wedding, but Barry has other plans. Sinbad suddenly deduces who it is that Beth fancies.

Mick sides with Carol when Marianne has some bad news. Terry asks Sinbad and Simon to be secret witnesses for his wedding. When Jackie flushes Jimmy's drugs down the toilet, he confesses why he needs them.

Beth declares her feelings for Margaret. A broken and inconsolable Jimmy goes on a bender. Bev has a Christmas Day she is not likely to forget.

Barry and Anna's arrangement is well and truly off, so Barry exacts a devastating revenge. Beth goes to Oldham in search of Margaret.

Anna's worst fears come true. Marianne needs space, but has trouble getting it. Simon and Katie starve themselves to keep the devil out. Jackie advises Jimmy to get help.

A new year beckons for the residents of the Close, but some of them don't have much to celebrate. Bev leaves hospital and prepares to go it alone, while Anna prepares to become Terry's wife, but.......
