New Year finds Cindy pleading with Ian, Phil and Annie plotting, and Roy receiving some surprising news from Frank.

Nick fires Cindy's barrister and orders Hogan to find a replacement. Nick phones and arranges to meet Ian. Phil and Annie discuss a new business venture. Grant pops round to see Kath.

Simon tries to find out the truth about Tiffany and Grant. Kathy celebrates 12th night in a wholly unpredictable manner.

Ian fears the worst as the custody case draws to its final conclusion and Tiffany is given more responsibility at the Queen Vic.

Ian's paranoia isn't helped by events at Cindy's trial, and Kathy is finding it hard to cope with conflicting loyalties. Matthew announces he's taking a stall on the market.

The judge returns his verdict on Cindy, and Annie is surprised when Phil enlists the help of Conor for their new plans.

Romance is blossoming for Nigel and Julie. Peggy and Ian are trying to stop the planned hostel. Conor gets a job beside Ricky. Jessie wants to visit her mum in prison.

Irene faces up to Susan Rose from the DSS when she tries to claim money. Nigel misreads Clare's feelings about her date and Phil takes Conor on his first money-making mission.

Nigel is shocked when Julie reveals Clare's boyfriend Josh is her son. Sanjay's plans for a good night out with Michael backfire when Matthew phones with distressing news about Susan.

Gita is missing. Ian arranges a vandal attack on the hostel. Josh and Clare agree to go on a date. Julie's community play gets popular support.

Jeff blames Ian for the vandalism to the hostel, Sanjay tells Mark why he didn't collect Gita, and Mark meets Rob Hedges - Jessie's social worker.

Sanjay is taken in for questioning as the hunt for Gita intensifies. Nigel's dinner party with Julie is a success - in more ways than one.

Kathy makes a major decision about the divorce, but how will Phil react? Ian and Cindy meet up again in court. Auditions are held for the Walford community play.

Nick and Cindy's relationship is under strain. Dot gets more than she bargained for when cleaning the church.

Sanjay tells Neelam he is thinking of suing the police for wrongful arrest. Ian's letter appears in the Gazette, and Kathy is furious.

Phil and Conor use brute force to collect money owed to the Palmers. Kathy starts to have regrets about divorcing Phil. Ruth returns to the Square.

Jessie receives a birthday surprise, and Kathy's attempt to get through to Phil doesn't go quite as planned.

Kathy tries to make a hasty exit but wakes Alex up. Rob tells Mark and Ruth that Nicole is serious about getting Jessie back.

Ian is concerned about his links with Annie. Pat grows evermore irate about Roy's commitment to the community play.

Terry makes an announcement - he's asked Irene to marry him.

A wild party leads to a confrontation between a new neighbour and Grant.

A new family, the di Marcos, move into the square and are met with a hostile reception. Alex is too honest with the bishop, but silent with Kathy.

Kathy puts all her cards on the table but how will Phil respond? Lorna causes chaos in the Hills' household. Terry has to ask Tiffany for a favour again.

Kathy faces a demon from the past when she is called to help a woman in distress. Ruth worries that Mark is ill-suited for fostering. Preparations for Ethel's 82nd birthday don't turn out as planned.

Huw is convinced his luck is in. For Alex it looks like his has just run out, as Phil's frustrations reach boiling point with Annie stoking his fire. New tenants for Number 25 prepare for house moving. Meanwhile, there is a pregnant pause in custody proceedings for Ian and Cindy.

Kathy makes a bold move which leads to a very public showdown. Huw learns of his father's death at the party in the squat.

Ian throws himself into the election campaign again. Peggy is worried about Phil. Lenny pursues Huw relentlessly. Mary teases Matthew about the girlfriend he's never met.

Matthew, Michael and Susan play happy families again when they move into Number 25. It doesn't take too long for the strain to show, especially when Michael's mother turns up. Annie and Phil plan to finally resolve the problem with their "business rivals" - with or without the help of Conor. Beppe and Gianni have a heart-to-heart. There's trouble for Ian when an unexpected sewage leak forces the closure of the chippy.

Phil, Annie and Conor confront their rivals in an attempt to gain control of their patch. Matthew and Mary grow close before an untimely intervention by Pauline. Ian decides to phone Cindy at home when Lucy is unwell and he is pleasantly surprised by her reaction when she visits. But, back at home, Cindy is horrified to discover that Nick already knows about the sewage leak in Ian's chippy.

Conor plants doubt in Phil's mind. Gianni hides from a girlfriend. Ian is a hero of the day when he protests against the closure of the local bus route. His day is a complete success - until Cindy and Nick arrive to collect the children and he becomes the centre of unwanted attention. Barry ruins Roy's business meetings. Pat is worried about Roy. Matthew and Mary's relationship is still not going well.

Mary's 18th birthday poses a romantic dilemma. Conor is suspicious of Mark's intentions. The strain of the car lot is beginning to show on Pat and Roy. Roy is working all hours determined to save the business, but Pat is worried that it may be too late. Nigel confides in Grant about Julie and needs to find out how she really feels.

A visitor from his Soho past catches up with Gianni. Mark and Ruth are forced to rethink their future with Jessie and decide they cannot stop Nicole from getting her back. There's good news for Robbie when Nigel offers a new job in the video shop.

The di Marcos celebrate Luisa's birthday. The celebration is interrupted when Gianni's ex-girlfriend decides to take her revenge. Kathy decides to visit Lorna again, but she is shocked when she hears what a neighbour has to say. Mark and Ruth bid a tearful farewell to Jessie. Pat confronts Roy with the realities of their financial situation.

It's a sad day for Mark and Ruth when Jessie leaves to be with her mum. Kathy hears some hard truths when she hears about Lorna. Robbie bungles a bet for Terry.

Domestic bliss returns to the Hills, but not everybody agrees it's good news. Dot is shaken when Nigel explains the truth about Mark. Lola comes clean about her life to Mick.

Peggy and Ben's birthday forces Phil and Kathy to face the realities of divorce. Kathy rushes to hospital when a surprise phone call demands her help.

Dot gossips about Nigel and Julie. Barry moves in with Pat and Roy. Terry and Irene announce wedding plans. Ian tells Kathy about meeting Cindy.

Kathy is invited to South Africa. Ian visits the solicitors regarding custody. News is out that Lorna is staying with Kathy. Irene plans her wedding.

Cindy gets off to a flying start as the custody battle opens in court. There's a domino effect when Lorna learns that Kathy's taking Ben to South Africa and Phil doesn't know.

Phil is upset that Kathy's been taking Ben to South Africa. Sarah finds out about Kathy and Alex. Ian and Cindy await the verdict on the custody battle.

The judge decides who will have custody of Cindy and Ian's children. Pressure builds for Kathy's departure. Phil is anxious when he hears George's house has burnt down.

Kathy is leaving the Square for South Africa and taking Ben with her. Phil, Alex and Grant are desperate for her to stay.

Phil has some difficult decisions to make about his future, and George is an unwelcome resident at the Vic.

Nigel makes a last minute attempt to patch up his love life, George takes drastic action at the Market Cellar, Annie is determined to ignore her father's advice to close down the club, and Mary gets more than she bargained for when she lends a sympathetic ear to Barry.

The community play brings excitement to the Square but can Nigel let Julie go? Phil tells Peggy some crushing news.

It's Mark and Ruth's wedding anniversary. Dot moves to a new flat. Bianca and Ricky visit Natasha's grave. Tony and Polly celebrate their front page story. Final preparations are made for the opening night of Giuseppe's restaurant.

Dot's visitor pulls at her heartstrings. Phil comforts Annie when family squabbles upset her. Tiffany flirts with Gianni. Alex confronts Phil about Lorna.

Tensions in the Vic build up to a violent climax. Dot finds her loyalties are divided. Peggy has a sad moment when George tells her about his plans.

Nigel prepares to leave Walford. Ruth goes for an HIV test. Grant tells Tiffany that he's going to Cyprus for a while.

It's Nigel's last day in the Square before he leaves for Scotland. Dot won't talk to him and no one seems to want to come his party.

Lenny receives bad news. Bianca has new career prospects. Susan has a check-up but things don't go well. Matthew and Sarah get engaged.

Robbie overhears a conversations between Lenny and his ex-girlfriend Alice, which could have serious repercussions for Bianca.

Barry accepts Robbie's offer of employment. Simon agrees to be Terry's best man. Phil and Connor decide to quit debt collecting.

Susan tells Michael she'd like to go to Leeds Castle. Irene has pre-wedding nerves while Simon worries about his best man's speech.

Final preparations are being made in the restaurant for the reception. Simon tells Tiffany that he is no longer best man. Irene and Terry are ready to walk up the aisle.

Louise produces a marriage certificate at Terry and Irene's wedding. Beppe makes a move on Tiff. Sarah announces her engagement to Matthew.

Louise visits Tiffany for the first time since the wedding. Frank tries to find out what has happened between Ricky and Bianca as Ricky hasn't been home all weekend.

Louise tries to make up for lost time with her children. Lenny is angry when questioned about his relationship with Bianca.

Ricky and Bianca's marriage appears to be over, but Frank attempts to knock some sense into them. Tiffany apologises to Louise, who discovers Terry has won money on the horses.

Michael starts to have doubts about his new-found romance with Susan. Tension is rife between Rosa and Gianni about how to run the restaurant.

Susan confronts Michael about everyone knowing they are back together. Conor and Phil have a night out and gamble in the Market Cellar. Meanwhile, Matthew tries to make up with Sarah.

Conor is concerned about the break-in at the pub. Roy is confident about getting back the bank loan. Lenny begins his campaign to promote Mick's band.

The bands gig goes down a storm. Peggy is confronted after hours by Jonah and Alfie who have broken into the Vic.

Peggy is held hostage by Alfie and Jonah. Phil is interrogated but blames Annie for everything. Meanwhile, Mary has an argument with Ruth about Huw.

Annie shows she is vulnerable and Roy's deal falls through.

A nasty letter puts Terry in a fix when he returns from his holiday with Irene. Meanwhile, Pat decides on a surprise birthday party for Roy.

Friendship blossoms at Peggy and Frank's dinner date. Barry hopes a promotion might be on the way. Roy makes a secret visit.

Roy's 63rd birthday party is disrupted when he overhears a conversation in the men's loos. An old pal causes havoc in the Vic. Peggy makes a move on Frank.

Grant returns from Cyprus but will Tiffany allow him back into her life? Meanwhile, Roy's heartbreak prompts Barry to reveal some home truths.

Pat convinces Roy that it was Peggy who made a pass at Frank. Phil and Grant settle things between them. Barry gives Robbie poor job interview advice.

Robbie fails to get a promotion because of Barry. Terry is under fire from the women in his life. Mick pursues his plan to transform the night cafe.

Rosa doesn't approve of Nicky hanging around with Martin when she discovers his past delinquent ways.

Sarah is shocked to hear of Terry's violent ways from Louise, Simon and Tiffany.

Sarah tells Irene about Terry's past violent behaviour with Louise, Simon and Tiffany. Where does this leave their relationship?

Louise enquires about being Ruth's lodger.

Sarah agrees to try and make more effort with Terry in bargain for Irene giving her permission for her to continue her work with ex-convicts.

Mick feels betrayed by Lola when she announces she is leaving the band as she has got a solo contract.

Teresa quits her job at Giuseppe's to work at the Night Cafe.

Pat and Roy's whistle stop tour continues. But it's a game of two halves for Barry and the lads.

Tiffany goes to collect more of her belongings from the Vic which causes another row with Grant.

Simon is disappointed when Chris brings his ex-boyfriend Ali to his dinner party.

Jeff congratulates Pauline on her efforts to stop a supermarket being built on the allotments. He is impressed by her efforts.

Simon plans a holiday.

Sanjay finally tracks down Gita. He finds her in a hospital in Birmingham after having just given birth.

Gita returns to the Square with her daughter Sharmilla and her new baby boy Arjun.

Neelam verbally attacks Gita which prompts Sanjay to come to her defence.

Terry speaks to Neelam about his interest in taking over and running the shop.

Luisa collapses causing concern for her family. Will she recover?

Tony and Simon kiss unaware they're being watched by Teresa.

Beppe and Gianni are still trying to locate Teresa. Will they find her?

The Norfolk holiday does not end well. Mary ends up in hospital while Tony, Simon and Teresa end up locked up in police cells.

Grant gets violent with Gianni when he keeps making digs about the state of his marriage to Tiffany.

Roy is furious that Frank plans to buy his old business, Manorwood from George. He withholds the money Frank is owed to scupper the deal. Will this be another missed opportunity for Frank?

Bianca tells Louise how Grant got violent with Tiffany in the past. Louise vows to do everything in her power to keep Tiffany away from Grant.

Mick is pleased to hear that his Mother will be paying him a visit in the near future after not seeing each other for a number of years.

Annie decides to move out of her flat and stay with George for awhile until she finds another place. George is delighted to be having his Daughter back home.

Terry threatens Louise again which leaves her in an emotional state. Grant tries to comfort her which results in them kissing.

Tiffany initially turns down Beppe's offer of a date until she realises Grant is watching and changes her mind.

George and Rosa are concerned that Gianni and Annie are forming a relationship together when they potentially could be half siblings.

Phil talks Frank out of going on a date with Peggy. Peggy is confused by Frank's sudden change of mind.

Kim confides in Teresa that Mick is really her brother but it is a secret. Teresa is unsure if the youngster is telling the truth.

Peggy berates Phil for trying to make Frank leave Walford and interfering in her blossoming relationship with him.

Sonia visits Bianca when she should be at school. She confides in her big sister that she is being bullied at her new school.

Tiffany tells Beppe she'd like there to be just friendship between them. Beppe is very disappointed but does not let on in front of her.

Roy finally discovers Pat's true feelings about Cornwall. She admits she is dreading moving there so Roy declares the move is off.

Louise and Grant give in to their feelings and sleep with each other.

Ricky and Bianca are feeling very differently about their pregnancy. Bianca is very excited while Ricky is full of anxiety.

Tiffany makes it clear that she will only return to Grant on her own terms. Sanjay recruits some help to deal with a catering crisis.

Bianca leaves the hospital distraught. Ricky finds her at Natasha's grave. Louise gets a job working for Ian. Polly finds out the truth about Arjun.

Polly's article on Sanjay and Gita is in the morning tabloids and Ruth is implicated in the article as the source. Michael tries to get information from Louise on Ian's new business.

The Sanjay and Gita story remains in the papers and reporters are hanging around the square. Ruth suggests a drinks party for the Kapoors.

Phil learns something happened between Grant and Louise. Tony tells Lenny how he feels about Teresa. Desperate to escape the recent media attention, Gita and Sanjay leave the Square.

Tony finds out that Teresa is seeing Lenny. Tiffany persuades Bianca to go to the health farm with her.

Phil has a date with an old girlfriend. Robbie agrees to babysit Sonia while Ricky and Bianca are at the health farm. The art exhibition in the café goes well.

Gianni tells Beppe about the cafe incident. Louise is still getting grief from Phil. Bianca and Ricky go on holiday leaving Sonia and Robbie home alone.

Robbie and Sonia wind each other up. Phil is annoyed at Mary's untidiness. Ian returns from holiday and blames Louise for the state of the Meal Machine.

Its Tony's first day working in the shop. Barry buys a porno mag in the shop but drops it in the Vic. Robbie decides to decorate Bianca's flat while she's away.

Terry's ideas for earning more money from his shop backfire when Tony discovers a plot. Phil's growing fury towards the Beales about their interference gets out of control.

Terry is eager for Louise to move away. Peggy wants Frank to move to the Vic. Robbie, Lenny, Huw and Barry plan a party. Ruth invites Huw and Conor for a meal.

Barry, Robbie and Lenny want details of Huw's date but when they make assumptions he's slept with Ruth, Huw doesn't deny it. Phil has also been stood up by Louise.

Mark thinks Huw and Ruth are an item. Louise finds out her divorce settlement will be paid in instalments. Huw tells the lads what really happened at Ruth's.

Beale's Market opens upsetting the other market stall holders. Cindy wants to see the children. Robbie has a party. Mary nearly finds out about Ruth and Conor.

Sonia is hungover. Pat tells people Ian is resigning from the residents association. Roy discovers his new cars are all 'cut and shut' cars.

Robbie does not notice how upset Sonia is after the party until Matt and Mary alert him to what happened. Roy is refused another loan at the bank.

Peggy and Frank celebrate their engagement which is called off when Peggy hears Pat spent the night with Frank. Roy gets drunk and drives towards Pat.

Pat and Peggy's fight involves glasses being thrown, a table overturned, Pat calling Peggy a bitch and slapping her, and Peggy calling Pat a cow and giving a big slap in return.

Roy is driving straight at Pat. At the last moment he sees her, swerves and keeps on driving. Frank goes in pursuit of Roy.

Frank and Roy's new partnership gets under way to the amazement of everyone else. Melanie helps Barry with the accounts. Frank moves back into the Queen Vic.

Martin is off to his football trials and Mary gives him a good luck ring. Annie suggests to Rosa that Gianni has a pay rise. Susan and Irene are hatching their plan of revenge on Terry.

Bonfire night holds several surprises as George proposes to Rosa, an old friend returns to the Square and the police search for Ian.

Phil's holiday proves to be far from relaxing. Meanwhile, Ian receives more shocking news.

Phil makes an unpleasant discovery about Billy, while Ian confronts the ghosts of the past

Jamie's godfather makes him an offer he can't refuse, while Ian has food for thought at Cindy's funeral.

Alex tells Robbie that Melanie is his sister. Ricky is upset by Bianca's choice of a homebirth. George offers Rosa a loan over an intimate dinner.

Alex invites Melanie for lunch but Melanie and Jeff argue. Ricky is upset at everyone talking about Bianca's home birth. Meanwhile, Gianni quits his job at the family restaurant.

Rosa makes a big decision, while Grant and Tiffany prepare for their anniversary. When trouble breaks out at the club, only one man can save Annie. Phil tries to get Jamie to meet Peggy properly, but Jamie tells Phil he's not feeling too good.

Its Tiff's first day at work. Ricky is trying to stay out of Bianca's way over the home birth. Jeff starts as security guard in Ian Beale's shop. Gianni needs to borrow money from Rosa to get to a job interview.

Simon sees the sign for a waiter at Giuseppe's. Frank tells Tiff about his row with Bianca. Bianca is upset that Ricky is still avoiding her. Dot and Lilly have an argument in the cafe about Jeff and where he could be.

Louise confronts Tiffany about what Beppe told her and advises her to not confess to Grant but to sort it out with Beppe. Bianca starts having pains so Sonia calls out the midwife. Jeff returns feeling very chipper.

Grant and Tiffany are blissfully happy. Then Tiffany finds out Grant has slept with her mother. Elsewhere another secret threatens to spill out. Who is the father of Gianni Di Marco?

Tiffany is desperate to get away with Courtney and decides to go with Beppe. She mislays her passport which forces her back to Vic. She then argues with Grant and falls down the stairs. Elsewhere, it's Jamie first day at the Vic.

There are shock waves in Albert Square as people learn of Tiffany's fall down the stairs. In hospital, it is found she has a blood clot on the brain. Elsewhere, Gianna confronts George.

Tiffany lies in hospital while DCI Mason begins the investigation. Grant is shocked Tiffany may not fully recover. Annie is horrified when George tells her that Gianna may be his son.

It's Louise's turn to be questioned by DCI Mason. Phil is trying to keep Jamie away from the police, thinking he'll end up getting Grant into more trouble. Nicky is angry with Rosa and they have words at the breakfast table.

Peggy and Phil's support for Grant may be wavering. Rosa comes up with an idea to help Gianna. Grant and Beppe have a nasty encounter over Tiffany.

It's the day after Grant and Beppe's fight at Tiffany's bedside, and the Square is rife with gossip. The atmosphere against Grant worsens.

Ricky and Bianca visit Natasha's grave. Michael tells Lisa off for looking after Mark's stall. Lisa grumbles to Matthew and is embarrassed when he reveals he is Michael's son.

Phil warns Grant to control his temper and avoid Jamie. Jamie gives evidence to Beppe. Conor is anxious Ruth has not taken the morning after pill.

Jamie confides in Phil that Beppe forced him to make a statement. Dot is upset that she has argued with Lilly and downs a few sherries. Annie tells Teresa that George has left for New Zealand and Gianna is not his son. Ricky replaces the van before the police arrive.

Grant suggests that Louise leaves Walford. Tiffany tells Louise that she hates her. Bianca decides to have her baby in hospital. Ian has trouble with his Christmas display.

Rosa and Beppe find out that George has signed the restaurant and house over to them. Ricky tells Teresa off for talking about the Christmas tree raid to Bianca.

Grant opens his presents with Courtney. Tiff leaves hospital with Beppe who urges her to make a police statement.

Phil is sent to find Ricky and eventually finds him in the squat with Teresa. Because of the power cut, Rosa opens the restaurant to cook her turkey.

Grant is refused bail. Bianca receives visitors in hospital. Frank agrees to help at a New Year sale in Manchester. Huw and Matthew plan a rave and Jamie decorates the club.

Phil hounds Tiffany to tell the truth about how she fell downstairs. Bianca and baby son arrive home from hospital - she's going to call him Liam.

Tiffany visits Grant in prison to tell him she and Courtney are leaving Walford. It's busy at the New Year's Eve rave.
