Duke Alpheus suddenly shows up at the palace. In Athanasia's dreams, he's an ambitious man who uses Jennette to advance his own position. Alarmed at the fact that things have started happening differently than in her dreams, Athanasia finds an ancient book that will help her in practicing magic.
