Season 12

Sam is still reeling from the shock discovery of Annalise's affair with Stonefish. Sonny takes things with Libby too far, and Lou and Cheryl consider the advantages of him marrying someone else for money.

A shattered Sam gets violent with Stonefish. Sonny begs Libby's forgiveness but realises he has taken things too far this time, and Hannah is distraught at the thought of Jen moving out.

Brett finds an ally in Cheryl's best friend, Judy. Sam discovers that Annalise's affair with Stonie is common knowledge in Ramsay Street so he decides to take off, while Stonie nurses his black eye.

Danni refuses to go back and repeat Year Twelve, but Cheryl has other plans as usual. Michael gives Jen some home truths about the way she has treated Phil. Lou and Cheryl still can't decide whether to take the money and run.

Susan and Karl's romantic night is shattered when Susan discovers that Kate was far more than a medical patient to Karl. Hannah visits Jen to get her side of the story about the break-up and for the first time in her life Danni can't talk her way out of a problem.

Karl's distress over Kate's death prompts Susan to wonder exactly what sort of relationship Karl had with her. Annalise collects her things from Marlene's, leaving a note and a ring for Sam. Libby's relationship dramas with Sonny cause gossip that she is pregnant.

Karl and Susan are upset that Libby felt she had to seek help from a counsellor. As Karl prepares to leave for Kate's funeral in Cairns, the tension mounts with Susan. Sam returns, with James Grinner who is a bad influence, and while Annalise tries to talk to Sam, he brushes her off. Annalise tells Joanna she is going away for good.

Annalise leaves Ramsay Street and she shares a sad goodbye with Sam. Jo contemplates going back to Western Australia. Meanwhile, Melissa leaves her diary at Billy's house - naturally he reads it and finds out some interesting information.

Melissa works out that Billy has read her diary, while Helen and Phil discover a girl in Michael's bedroom. Jen's job is under threat; and Stonie enlists Jo's help to put together a creative dance routine for the Performance Arts course.

Helen may be moving to a retirement village, while Luke notices an attraction between Judy Bergman and Brett. Stonefish wins a place in the performance arts class and starts work as a theme waiter at the coffee shop.

Melissa discovers that Billy misread a passage and innocently calls him stupid. Helen applies to sit a late entrance exam to get into university as a mature age student and Danni is dreading going back to school to repeat year twelve.

Danni decides to drop out of school after a shocking first day back. Sonny talks Libby into sharing a pizza and a chat, where she outlines what their relationship should be like. Meanwhile Sam's troublesome mate, James, has struck up a friendship with Jen who is working at Chez Chez as a barmaid.

After being sprung kissing James by Hannah, Jen throws herself into a panic. Susan becomes concerned for Billy and his ability to handle Year Eleven, while Luke's job is going well at the Time Share company.

Luke's on cloud nine after a wonderful romantic evening with Nadia. Sam finally has it out with James after he pulled an illegal stunt and Cheryl's had enough of Brett being a slob and not pulling his weight around the house.

Toadfish hassles Billy for information regarding dyslexia; Jo meets with Bruce Styles and is pleased when she discovers how happy he is with her work. Meanwhile Brett enjoys setting himself up in the backyard, and is Judy interested in him?

Toadfish amazes everyone with the results of his IQ test. Brett and Judy try to come to terms with their new relationship and Helen offers Brett some great advice on life.

A very famous postman visits Ramsay Street. Danni lets Cheryl know that her overprotective style of mothering is driving Brett away and Stonie is sorry that he ever mentioned the daggy coffee shop uniforms to Angie.

Valentine's Day brings with it some very strange outcomes for the residents of Ramsay Street. Cheryl finally extends the olive branch to Brett and Karl returns from Kate's memorial service, but the strain between Susan and himself is still there.

Mal realises that Kate must have been more than just a patient to Karl and Hannah suffers the ultimate humiliation when the teacher reads her letter about his good looks.

Mal is almost overcome by embarrassment when his parents meet Shona's family. Phil agrees to take the girls in to see Helen, and Darren and Libby are finding it increasingly difficult to have time alone.

Having been caught by Karl, Libby and Darren decide to put their relationship on hold for the time being. Hannah and Philip are thrilled to hear that Helen has woken out of her coma, but are devastated when they visit and realise she doesn't recognise them. Luke returns to Ramsay Street.

Steve's put off his quest to win Danni when Luke comes home with a new, positive attitude. Cheryl's stressed with work, gets lumped with a depressed Danni and has the auction to worry about, then to make matters worse receives disturbing news about baby Louise. Decision time arrives for Helen.

Toadie has found an electronics catalogue which leads to bargain hunting. Number 22 is up for auction. Libby is putting her spare time to good use and is studying extremely hard, while Darren's bid to go straight suffers a setback when he has a brush with the law.

Susan is beginning to worry about Libby's state of health, while the mystery buyer of Cheryl's house is revealed. Karl seems to have softened on his stance over Darren, but Darren looks set to scupper all his good work. Phil's romance writing hits a brick wall.

Joanna takes Hannah down to the park for a surprise unveiling. Darren is failing to cope back in prison and Karl is suspicious about Libby's absences. Mal attempts to keep his secret well and truly under wraps.

Despite Libby and Darren's pledge of love and commitment to each other, their respective families aren't exactly being supportive. Toadie and Billy continue their radio antics, unaware that they are breaking the law. Danni makes a decision to commence a relationship with Steve.

Hannah desperately wants to got to the ball with Casper, but Phil insists she is too young for nightclubs. The Masquerade ball promises as much intrigue as fun and Debbie finds her plan to humiliate Steve and Danni foiled by Danni's earlier contact with Mrs Tessa George. Karl reaches the end of his tether with Darren.

Shockwaves proves a runaway success all over Erinsborough. When Melissa steps in to haul Billy off to a body shaping demonstration, tension inevitably flares - but this time their row becomes public knowledge. Stonie is now making big plans involving Catherine.

Stonie is absolutely shattered by the news that Catherine is no longer interested in a relationship with him. Cheryl's had enough of fighting with her loved ones, but tragedy soon strikes.

Helen arrives home and prepares to settle back into regular Ramsay Street life. Whilst her homecoming is even more wonderful than she had originally imagined, the rest of the street is trying to come to terms with the shock of Cheryl's death.

Helen is upset to find that Philip kept the news of Cheryl's death from her and immediately offers a distraught Marlene moral support in her hour of need. Karl feels an enormous amount of guilt regarding Cheryl's death and decides he must tell Marlene of his feelings. Toadfish's popularity skyrockets.

Angie fears for the Coffee Shop's future, but Stonie has an idea that would save the family from a financial burden. Darren's fall-out with Karl over his mother's death looks set to drive the odd-job business to the wall, while Sarah uncovers a plot to sabotage Danni's clothes collection.

The actual cause of Cheryl's death is determined. Philip clashes with Ruth Wilkinson over the strenuous physiotherapy regime Helen is attempting. When Debbie offers to help Danni fix up the mess the saboteur left behind in the shop, Danni begins to think Debbie has an ulterior motive.

Danni has an amazing stroke of good luck when a fashion curator from a gallery comes to view her designs. Feeling an obligation to their fans, Hannah and Toadie decide to make one last radio broadcast, but Billy doesn't want to have anything to do with the illegal act.

Billy and Toadie's friendship is put to the test after they are taken to the police station by the radio authorities. Karl is finding life incredibly difficult since Cheryl's death and Libby is forced to decide where her loyalties lie when Darren begins hurling bitter accusations at Karl over Cheryl's death.

The Ramsay Street residents gather to pay their last respects to Cheryl, and Brett gets a frosty reception from Darren. Mal suspects Melissa isn't being honest with his brother when he catches her kissing a young guy that isn't Billy.

The level of responsibility Karl has placed on himself over Cheryl's death has reached breaking point, forcing a him to make a drastic change in his life. Debbie begins to realise the enormity of what she did to Danni's clothing business, and Lou learns he is the sole benefactor of Cheryl's will.

Lou's plans to take over the pub doesn't settle well with Darren and battle lines are drawn for control of Chez Chez. Debbie finally calls on every ounce of courage she possesses and tells Danni she's responsible for the clothes fiasco, while Hannah sets up a meeting between Karl and Toadie to organise his living arrangements.

Angie and Stonefish leave Erinsborough. Certain members of the Kennedy family aren't altogether pleased with Toadie moving in. Sarah is thrown into a spin when she catches wind of a UK journalist who has tracked her down.

Phil finds himself in a compromising situation with Helen's physiotherapist Ruth, while Darren promises to give Lou a welcome home he won't forget. Catherine discovers Sarah's dark secret.

Sarah reveals her secret - much to Catherine's horror. Brett is determined to build a relationship with Darren - even though his older brother seems determined on pushing him away, and Philip has had enough of Ruth's pushiness and goes behind Helen's back to give her the sack.

Toadie, in the quest for more money, decides to become a pet minder. Hannah alerts Debbie to the fact she knows about the unstitching of Danni's designs and makes her sister pay for her wicked deeds. Mal and Karl sample the difficulties of working in unison at a lawn mowing gig.

Debbie is becoming increasingly sick of being Hannah's slave. Karl gives Mal some much-needed advice on public relations. Toadie is shocked when he spies Melissa kissing someone in a car while on his way home with the cat and becomes convinced his best mate's girl is a love-cheat.

Both Mal and Darren are angling for the same business deal and the gullible Mal is taken for a ride by ex-business partner Darren. Jo is being strangely evasive about her experiences in Europe, but finally bares her soul to Marlene. A very worried Melissa entreats Toadie not to tell Billy that she was kissing another boy.

The mystery of Melissa deepens when she fails to come home to the Kennedy's one night. Danni and Luke appear to be well on the way to a reconciliation, however Danni feels threatened by Luke's constant inclusion of Joanna in their plans.

Danni is made to realise Joanna is not a threat to her relationship with Luke. Philip and Ruth manage to track down her ex-husband and the car. Hannah and Jon become lost when they go on a skating adventure.

Mal feels cheated in his business dealings with Darren. Hannah and Jon's adventure lands them in trouble. Brett and Darren sort out some brotherly differences.

Billy continues to feel that he is losing Melissa when she gives him the run-a-round. Sarah feels that Catherine has worn out her welcome at number 30 and asks her to leave. Brett gives Libby some heartfelt advice regarding Darren.

Melissa finally makes a decision regarding her relationship with Billy. Sarah is beginning to realise how badly she has handled things with Catherine. Darren receives another smack in the face when Lou tells him he's hired Mal to do the alterations to the pub.

Nobody can stop Billy's black mood. Toadie feels for his mate, but he can do nothing to cheer him up. Sarah decides to pack her bags and make a quick exit when she discovers Steven's on his way to Australia. Ruth and Helen have finished their session and Ruth is doing the paperwork as Phil bursts in, accompanied by the sound of Darren's screeching tires. Brett is washing Marlene's car outside No. 22. Marlene goes over to him and asks him if Libby made it to the exam.

After a meeting with the bank, Karl discovers he is in financial trouble now that he is not a working doctor. Sarah's placed in a state of panic when a letter from Steven arrives. Helen starts to have doubts about seeing Harold.

Karl faces a financial dilemma when the bank refuses his loan. Harold refuses to find out about his past and Danni gets caught up in Sarah's cunning plan.

Jo and Mal have an enlightening day at the races. Steven isn't fooled by Sarah's little plan and Darren decides to confess his true feelings to Libby before he loses her for good.

Hannah, Jon, Toadie and Billy come across an injured young dog that is in need of a home. Toadie's mice family is discovered by Karl and they are ordered out of the house. Brett still has some work to do in changing Darren's attitude toward Lou.

Jon and Ruth continue to unpack and find their feet in the Martin House. Luke is very apprehensive about speaking to the school kids about his recent experiences with cancer. Helen is absolutely thrilled to receive a call from Madge.

Ruth is surprised when she receives a mysterious phone call, Darren and Jo have a serious bonding session. Harold and Madge are reunited at last.

Jon is caught in a lie, but he covers to save his secret job. Brett makes himself first priority and threatens to leave Erinsborough. Harold runs from his past despite Madge's best efforts.
