During World War II, he conducted secret experiments, the Corpse Preservation Project, and has been continuing them ever since. He has even sacrificed Cornelia, who chose Lupin over himself, to the Project. An army of the dead rises from the cemetery. Memories of love cause Cornelia confusion. "Remember, Cornelia!"
