Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, has settled a US lawsuit over claims that its algorithms can be addictive for teenagers. Under the deal, users under 18 will no longer see likes, and daily time on both apps will be limited to two hours. The deal currently applies only in the US, while a similar case is ongoing in Europe.
