83. Why Does Iceland Still Hunt Whales?

Since the 2026 whaling season began in mid-June, around 30 whales have reportedly been killed, according to environmental groups. Only one company still hunts whales in Iceland, where just 2% of people eat whale meat. Demand has also fallen sharply in Japan, a key export market. So why does Iceland continue whaling despite its declining profitability?
