Berlin’s historic central boulevard takes its name from the rows of linden trees that once lined it. Once a major thoroughfare and later a boundary during Germany’s division, it now symbolizes the reunified capital. It is also home to landmarks such as the State Library, State Opera and Hotel Adlon.

This grand, straight boulevard was created in the 19th century to transform Budapest into a modern European capital, inspired by Vienna and Paris. Lined with Neo-Renaissance buildings, it leads from the city center to the City Park. A single plane tree, carefully preserved, has survived wars and revolutions.

One of Poland’s best-known historic streets, Piotrkowska stretches through the heart of the former textile city. Its courtyards and former textile factories reveal Łódź’s industrial past, while many have been transformed into vibrant cultural venues.

One of the world’s most famous avenues, the Champs-Élysées symbolizes luxury and French identity. Commissioned under Napoleon to celebrate his army, it hosts major national celebrations and public demonstrations. A major redesign, planned through 2030, aims to restore its role as a pedestrian-friendly boulevard.
